How the chart is calculated
This chart uses digit sums to calculate nine core positions. It is a basic chart, not an extended matrix with additional lines or points.
The 22 rule
Whenever a number is greater than 22, its digits are added together, repeating until the result is between 1 and 22. Numbers from 1 to 22 are kept as they are, so 22 stays 22. For example, 28 becomes 2 + 8 = 10.
The nine formulas
| Point | Position | Formula |
|---|---|---|
| A | Day (left) | R(day) |
| B | Month (top) | month |
| C | Year (right) | R(sumDigits(year)) |
| D | Foundation (bottom) | R(A+B+C) |
| E | Center | R(A+B+C+D) |
| F | Day + Month (upper left) | R(A+B) |
| G | Month + Year (upper right) | R(B+C) |
| H | Year + Foundation (lower right) | R(C+D) |
| I | Foundation + Day (lower left) | R(D+A) |
Card names used here
Numbers follow this site's Rider–Waite–Smith order: 8 is Strength, 11 is Justice and 22 is read as The Fool (card 0). Some Destiny Matrix sources swap 8 and 11, so compare charts with the same convention in mind.
What this chart is and is not
Other calculators may reduce numbers by subtracting 22 or add further positions, so their results can differ. The short card notes on this page are original reflection prompts written for this site. They are not an official system, a personality test or a prediction.
