If you only know your birthday and want a small set of symbolic themes, start with tarot birth cards. Choose a Destiny Matrix for nine linked positions based on that date. If you know your birth time and birthplace and want planetary placements, use an astrological birth chart.
These tools share birth information, but their outputs are not interchangeable. Choose by what you want to explore and what you actually know, rather than by which result sounds most personal.
Three tools at a glance
This comparison describes the tools currently available on AI Tarot. Other websites may use different methods or access rules.
| Tool | Information you enter | What you receive | Calculation and AI | Important limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tarot birth cards | A Gregorian birth date | One, two or three Major Arcana cards with calculation steps | Free local arithmetic; no account or AI needed for the calculation | A symbolic date-based result, not a planetary chart or a random draw |
| Destiny Matrix | A Gregorian birth date | Nine core positions with cards, formulas and prepared reflection prompts | Basic calculation needs no login; optional AI conversation is separate | A basic nine-position chart, not every extended matrix system |
| Astrological birth chart | Birth date, time and a resolved birthplace with coordinates and time zone | Calculated planetary placements and a chart with an AI interpretation | Astronomy is calculated first; the AI report follows account entitlements | This site’s report flow requires login, and free accounts must verify their email |
A birth-card result and a matrix number can refer to the same Major Arcana card without describing the same position or method. A natal chart uses a different vocabulary: planets, zodiac signs, angles and houses.
Choose a starting point for your situation
You only know your date of birth
Use the tarot birth-card calculator if you want a compact starting point: check the arithmetic, read the card themes and pick one reflection question. For example, you might ask where a theme of balance appears in a current conversation. The card does not diagnose your personality.
If a second calculator gives different cards, compare its formula instead of assuming one of them is broken. Our birth-card methods comparison works through two dates and explains why pairing rules matter.
You want several connected reflection points
Try the Destiny Matrix calculator. You can inspect its center, sides and corners, then choose one theme to consider this week. The nine positions and their short prompts come from the basic calculation and prepared text; they are not generated AI answers.
The basic worksheet can be printed through your browser, including Save as PDF where supported. It is not automatically saved to your account. The Matrix guide explains the formulas, worksheet and separate optional AI conversation.
You know your time and place and want a sky chart
Choose the birth-chart tool. It uses your date, local time, place coordinates and time zone for a deterministic astronomy calculation, then asks AI to interpret the calculated chart. AI does not invent the planetary positions.
This site currently requires a birth time. If yours is unknown, do not enter a guessed time and treat the resulting Ascendant or houses as established facts. The birth-chart guide introduces the chart’s main parts. Report access and depth depend on your account; do not assume every AI feature is included free.
Keep the result in proportion
All three tools can support reflection, but a calculation is not a scientific personality assessment or a reliable prediction. A precisely calculated sky position does not establish the predictive validity of astrology. Start with one tool, write down one useful question, and check your interpretation against lived experience and available facts.
Questions before you choose
Does a free calculator mean free AI interpretation?
No. Basic birth-card and Matrix calculations are separate from AI services. Matrix AI chat has its own account rules. The birth-chart report is an authenticated AI flow, with email verification required for free accounts and access governed by entitlements.
Should the three tools give me matching answers?
No. Their inputs, formulas and outputs differ. Use a comparison to understand those differences, not to count matching symbols as proof. Choose one reflective task and the tool suited to it.
